Frequently Asked
Questions |

| Q. | Is Shalom Torah Academy approved by the State of New Jersey? | |
| A. | Shalom Torah Academy is approved by the New Jersey State Department of Education and participates in all state and federal programs available to non-public schools. In addition, the Academy cooperates with local school districts in formulating curriculum and generally exceeds local standards. | |
| Q. | We are not particularly religious or observant at home. Is a Shalom school appropriate for our family? | |
| A. | Yes. Shalom schools are sensitive to the needs of the communities which they serve. Their religious and Judaic programs are tailored for families with any kind of Jewish background. Children learn and bring home to their families positive experiences in Judaism and an appreciation of its way of life. | |
| Q. | By spending half a day on Judaic curriculum, will my child's progress in general studies be hindered causing and inferior education? | |
| A. | No. Children in Shalom excel in all subjects, and are more than equal with their fellow students who do not go to a day school. This is due to the encouraging and supportive leaning environment, the individualized attention received through smaller classes, a high morale, a stress-free atmosphere of enthusiasm and a desire to succeed. In fact, students learn time management skills in a dual curriculum and learn how to be productive in their seecular classes coupled with Judaic subjects. | |
| Q. | How does Shalom Torah Academy measure the success of its educational system? | |
| A. | By using the same or similar standardized tests that are administered in the local public school system, we are able to monitor our level of achievement. Recent results of the Terra Nova Tests have shown our students to be among the top percentiles in the nation. | |
